Special January Events Mark the Dedication of UCM’s Building in January, 1866

Please plan to help celebrate 150 Years of our Church’s Presence in Montpelier by attending one or more of the following events:

January 24, 2016- “Dedicating Ourselves for Another 150 Years,” Rev. Joan Javier-Duval and the 150th Anniversary Committee, marking the 150th anniversary of the dedication of our beloved church building. In this service, we will celebrate the history of our religious community and the building in which we gather to look forward to our next 150 years.

At 9:50 am a special prelude played on UCM’s historic pipe organ will precede the service.

January 30, Saturday Potluck Dinner for Church Members and Friends at 6:00 pm in the vestry. Please bring a dish to share and stay to enjoy Linda Radtke and Arthur Zorn presenting “The Vermont Civil War Songbook” at 7 p.m in the vestry.

If you plan to attend the potluck dinner, please RSVP to Sandal by Friday, January 29.

January 30, 7:00 P.M Program, “The Vermont Civil War Songbook” featuring songs and readings from the era of our Church’s establishment, is a Vermont Humanities Council Event hosted by the Unitarian Church of Montpelier. It is free, open to the public, and accessible to those with disabilities.

January 31 – Sunday Service “Built in Our Image”
with Rev. Mark W. Harris
Guest speaker Mark W. Harris, minister of the First Parish of Watertown, MA since 1996, will look at how our UU faith is reflected in our buildings. Rev. Harris has written many books and pamphlets on Unitarian Universalist history, and is an adjunct professor at both Andover Newton Theological School and Harvard Divinity School.
