UCM Social Responsibility Committee is hosting a community meeting with the newly formed Central Vermont Refugee Assistance Network on Thursday, April 28 (11:30 AM- 1 PM) in the church vestry.
Laurie Stavrand from the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program will join us and share the exciting news that up to 100 refugees from Syria and Iraq will be coming to Rutland starting this October. Discussion will follow about ways we can assist newly arrived refugees to our state and hopefully have our Montpelier community be considered as a resettlement area. Michael Arnowitt will give an update about his upcoming May benefit concerts for Syrian refugees.
