A Note from the Executive Team

Dear UCM Members & Friends,

Wishing you well as summer progresses into fall and our gardens fill with changing colors.

We’re looking forward to our first service on September 12, led by Verdis LeVar Robinson, our Ministerial Intern. It will be our annual Water Ceremony. Please watch for additional details in this week’s announcements, arriving Friday, September 3 to your email inboxes!

If for any reason you have not been receiving UCM’s weekly e-newsletters, please contact Elaine Ball.

Regrettably, COVID-19 has made a comeback in Vermont. Because we currently do not meet the UCM Reopening Guidelines our COVID-19 Task Force set out for us to reopen the building, our first services will be virtual. As much as we wish to meet in person, health and safety are our paramount concerns.

These services will be on Zoom, and information on how to connect will be sent closer to the service date

On another note, an outdoor UCM Ice Cream Social was in the planning stages, to be held on September 12 at the North Branch Nature Center. The Executive Team has determined that this in-person event be postponed to a later date because of the recent increase in Delta variant infections, the expected surge in mid-September, and the numerous logistical issues related to holding the event at NBNC. A new date may be determined based upon the status of COVID-19 numbers and anticipated trends later in September. It will take many volunteers to plan, organize, and run this event in the future.

Yes, we join with those who wish life would return to normal, and we hope those days will arrive soon. In the meantime, we’ve chosen a cautious path for the well-being of our UCM community.
