Summary of UCM’s Annual Meeting on May 22

Thank you to everyone who participated in our first ever hybrid Annual Meeting, held both in our Sanctuary and on Zoom. The Governing Board is so thankful for everyone’s patience and good humor as we switched between formats in our discussions. We are also grateful to those who provided behind-the-scenes technical assistance that made this hybrid meeting possible.

Barbara Conrey gave a presentation and update on the construction of the new ventilation and heat systems in the church building. Thanks to the Air Quality Project team for shepherding this undertaking.

The congregation voted to approve the General Fund and Capital Fund budgets for church year 2022-2023.

The congregation voted to approve the Minutes from the 2021 Annual Meeting, but hold off on the approval of two special meeting minutes to address concerns with their formatting. Several members of the congregation will be working this summer to devise a consistent format for the minutes from congregational meetings.

The congregation engaged in two thoughtful and heartfelt discussions around the Bylaw amendments proposed by Joel Dennison and ultimately voted against their adoption.

The congregation voted in two new Board members, Joel Dennison and Fran Dodd and re-elected Hugo Liepmann. Meredith Warner was elected as the President of the Board, Vic Guadagno as Vice-President, Ansel Ploog as Secretary and Fran Dodd as Financial Officer. The Board is so grateful to outgoing Board members Charlotte Root and Ryan Kane for their many forms of service to this community!

Much gratitude to everyone for making this hybrid Annual Meeting a success!
