When Rev. Dwinell’s late husband, Sky Yardley, was diagnosed with “probable early stage Alzheimer’s” in 2016, they contemplated the meaning of memory. Rev. Dwinell will share some of their thoughts. Music will be provided by the UCM choir singing “Gabriel’s Oboe” with guest musicians Kris Hammer and Deborah Black; and Heather Moz singing “Unforgettable.”
The Rev. Jane Dwinell is a retired UU minister who lives on Lake Champlain in northern VT with her two cats and her garden. During her ministerial career, she specialized in helping our small congregations be the best they could be. She is the author of Big Ideas for Small Congregations, and most recently, she is the co-author with Sky of their memoir: Alzheimer’s Canyon: One Couple’s Reflections on Living with Dementia. Rev. Dwinell and Sky previously preached together at UCM in February of 2018.
