Demographics Survey Update – August 2, 2024
We’re over halfway to our goal of at least 60 survey participants for our 2024 Demographics Survey ~ thank you to everyone who has already completed it! I’m also appreciative of all the feedback we are receiving, from concerns about the length (yes, it takes about 20-30 minutes, if you answer all the questions) and some questions not everyone is comfortable answering.
Please, feel free to reach out (ucm.membership@gmail.com/802-595-9801) with any questions/concerns, so we can talk through in more detail why we’ve created this survey in particular the way we have.
I hope that once we are able to share the amazing things we’re learning about our congregation, everyone will understand more why we’re asking the things we are ~ and, with deep gratitude for the time, care, and attention you’re offering by completing the survey, we are offering a drawing for three participants to win gift certificates to local Montpelier businesses/restaurants!
Here are just a few of the interesting questions we’re asking as we collect responses:
What percentage of those who attend services in person travel from outside Montpelier? How close or far away do most people live from UCM?
Which programs/events/groups are most ‘popular,’ meaningful, and/or well-attended? Could we offer more programs similar to these? Are there program areas of interest we aren’t currently offering that people would appreciate/value?
What are the age ranges of those who are very active participants in the life of our church (and of those who aren’t as active), and what types of programs appeal to congregants of various age groups?
Of course, many more questions are bound to arise, and if you’re interested in ‘analyzing data,’ I would love hear from you! None of the information will be personally identifiable, as we are just looking for an overall picture of who we are as a congregation — 160 years since the founding of our church, in 1864!
Thanks for your participation, ~ Elaine Ball, Congregational Life Coordinator
