Letter from Elaine Ball, Congregational Life Coordinator
Dear Friends,
Summer is a time that feels a bit slower – at least in my life – a time to savor the sun and visit the water and mountains as often as possible. This year in particular, it is also a time I’m looking forward to filling with time with family, friends, and neighbors – creating and sustaining relationships with my fellow travelers on this blue boat we call home.
I hope you’ll take a look at both the upcoming events happening this summer, and the opportunities for engaging more deeply with our UCM community this fall. There are so many ways to help, lead, follow, participate, and belong. Where and how are you called to give, and to receive?
If you’re relatively new to our UCM community, I hope you’ll reach out! I’d love to take some time to meet you and let you know more about our congregational life, everything we have to offer, and every way we invite everyone to give as they are able.
We have Summer Meditation Services in the Vestry every Sunday at 10 AM from June 15 – September 7, and return to our regular Worship Services on September 15, with our Water Communion Sunday. Throughout the summer, we encourage you to collect water from places that are meaningful to you, to bring to Water Communion in the fall.
Whether you’re a newcomer/friend/long-time Member, I’d love to meet up for coffee/tea sometime this summer, to get to know you better and hear more about what it means to you to ‘be a member’ of a place, to ‘belong’ to a group of people? Let’s chat soon, ~ Elaine
