Letter from Director of Spiritual Exploration

What a beautiful day it was on Sunday! We had our first Love in Action day, where both children and youth dug up the flower beds and then shared them with the congregation and local community. Many flowers and smiles were spread (photo attached)!
Coming up this week…
🎨 Children’s Chapel (PreK – Grade 4) – Danette, special guest Steve Finner and myself will be leading children in an exploration of our wonder question of the week – “How do we remember what matters most to us?” We’ll be telling the story of the chalice and how it reminds us of what’s important as UUs. There will also be arts & crafts, learning about rituals (such as the shofar), and creative materials to help us explore and remember what matters most to each of us.
🌈 Middle School Youth Group (Grades 5-8) – Will be led by Gillie and the group will dive into this year’s theme: Love is Action. They’ll be doing “fun identity- and- community- building games (yes, actual fun) AND projects that make the world better…” starting with Trash Tramps: Middle School Edition! We’re also looking for more adults to get involved with this amazing and fun group of youth, so please let us know if you are interested in connecting with the team to support the group!
Lastly, remember to sign up for a week to light the chalice – all families and children and youth of all ages are warmly invited to participate in this meaningful ritual.
I hope you and your family have some moments to soak up the sunshine this week and to see you Sunday!
~Caitlin
