If the walls could talk, the parsonage that was Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s home in his first full-time ministry in Montgomery would tell stories of not only courage and inspiration, but danger and fear as well. After the first bombing of the home which nearly took the lives of his wife and first born-daughter, what drove MLK to lead with compassion rather than anger and retribution. Rev. Verdis LeVar Robinson (he/they) is the transitional minister of All Souls Unitarian Universalist Congregation of New London, CT. He has previously served as ministerial intern and staff at Unitarian Church of Montpelier, 2020-2023, and as Minister for Growth at First Unitarian Church of Rochester, 2023-2025. Rev. Verdis was ordained by First Unitarian and First Universalist Churches of Rochester and UCM in 2023 and is the former director of the Montpelier Community Gospel Choir.
