Old Books Available at UCM – April 2026

Old Books – Unitarian Church of Montpelier

Offered to the Congregation, April 5, 2026

The books described below have belonged to UCM for many decades. They have recently been kept in the Records Room near the Chapel.

Not seeing the need or value to continue owning them – we contacted Harvard Divinity School, the Unitarian Universalist Association, and the Library of Meadville Lombard Theological School, a Unitarian Universalist institution in Chicago.

Meadville requested 12 of the 45 books, which have been mailed and received.

All of the remaining books are old. Many were owned – and inscribed – by Rev. J. Edward Wright (minister, Church of the Messiah, 1869 – 1914), or by his wife, Julia Wright, or his mother.

J E Wright, on the listing, indicates a clear connection with J. Edward Wright and family.
