CareGivers Support Group

You may think the UCM CareGivers Support Group is only for people who have loved ones with a named diagnosis, such as dementia or another medical or age-related challenge. That’s partially true. However, we have learned from experience that many people struggle with caring for a partner, parent, or adult child who does not have a confirmed medical condition. Those caregivers can feel just as weary and alone, just as overwhelmed and discouraged, as anyone living with a formal diagnosis.

As you encounter and worry about changes that you see in someone close to you, changes like declining memory or ability, the CareGivers Support Group may offer you a place of respite. A place to share your experience and your feelings, and to be heard and supported.

The Group welcomes new participants at any time. We invite you to reach out to Gale Pekar or Hugo Liepmann, co-facilitators, to see if the Group might be of value to you. We meet on Zoom, every other week.
