While we often speak of the reward of giving and generosity, less often do we focus on the gifts of receiving. For those of us who see ourselves as caretakers, healers, parents or grandparents, it may be challenging to accept help from others. This service, which comes between Thanksgiving and Christmas, will focus on the benefits of welcoming care and gifts from others. Music will be provided by pianist Aaron Marcus.
Here is an introduction from Rev. Patience: I am a (mostly) retired UU parish and community minister who is also a CASA volunteer Guardian ad Litem. I live in Alstead with my husband on 20 acres of fields, woods, gardens and a small vineyard. In the past four decades I have served the NH and VT area in several capacities including as a settled, interim and consulting parish minister, a Hospice and Hospital chaplain, a licensed pastoral therapist, and more recently as a congregational consultant. I have two adult children, one of whom just got married and turned our unused horse barn into a beautiful home.
