February 1, A Timeline of Hope

There is a timelessness about the kind of hard-working hope that Jane Goodall described as “a survival trait.”  Hope can be found in our personal and collective histories. In the present, we not only take hope from the actions of those around us but also pass it on to others. Just as important, we ourselves are planting the seeds of hope that will help future generations navigate their challenges. Music will include the UCM Choir singing “I Am Willing” by Holly Near.

February Worship Theme: Meeting the Moment with Faith
Faith stirs wonder about where we place our trust — in one another, in the Earth’s balance, in the moral arc of the universe, in something larger than ourselves. But what do we do when our faith is tested? How do we move through uncertainty with a tender courage that keeps us reaching, hoping, and believing that goodness will find its way?
