Loving and raising a child who did, in fact, fall fairly “far from the tree” can be a humbling, baffling, and rewarding experience. The central theme of this sermon is our student minister Lisa Kynvi’s experiences raising her gender non-conforming, then transgender daughter, and her family’s experiences with a world that doesn’t quite know what to do with them.
