The Rev. Jane Dwinell and Sky Yardley have been Living with Dementia since Skye’s diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease in the summer of 2016. They are busy speaking at UU churches around the country, and sharing their experience via their blog: alzheimerscanyon.blogspot.com. Through this work, they are hoping to erase the stigma surrounding this disease. Former residents of Montpelier, they now live in Burlington with their son, Sayer, and his partner, Emma, where they enjoy gardening, disc golf, and interesting board games. They will offer a short workshop to help people understand how to make church life more friendly to people with dementia, and how to provide companionship to those homebound in the later stages.
