June 11, Born This Way: Pride Service

We close our 2022-2023 church year with a service celebrating the resilience, joy, love, and diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community in honor of Pride Month. As anti-queer bills, laws, and policies are on the rise across the country, this affirming service will reach into Unitarian Universalist ancestry to seek guidance, hope, and inspiration. Music will be provided by the UCM choir singing Samuel Barber’s “Sure on this Shining Night”, and Lady Gaga’s “Born this Way.”  Paula Gills and Es Beaudry will also present “We Shall be Known” by MaMuse. You’re invited to wear one of the rainbow colors for the service – you are especially invited to wear one of the “Progress Pride Flag” colors (black, brown, light-blue, white, and light-pink) recognizing BIPOC and transgender LGBTQIA+ individuals.

Individual joys and concerns will be read aloud during the service. Complete this form by Saturday evening to submit your joy or concern. View or download the order of service (published by 5pm Friday).

**This will be the FINAL service of the church year. Summer meditation services will begin June 18. Be on the lookout for announcements about other summer programming at UCM.**
