Due to COVID-19, the Thursday Night Warming Shelter is currently in limbo. Various local organizations are trying to address the need for warming shelters and an overnight shelter in our community this winter.

An EVERYONE EATS grant was written and approved to provide financial support for local food providers and food for those in need of meals and has been extended through the end of June, 2022.

Under this grant UCM delivers 30 entrees on Thursday nights to Another Way, for local unhoused individuals. Meals are prepared by area caterers and restaurants. ‘Warming Shelter’ volunteers pack bags with flatware, desserts, drinks, fruit and snacks to go with the entrees.

Due to COVID-19, only a few volunteers are needed on Thursdays and strict safety protocols are being followed. You can support this effort by contacting Peter Thoms, to offer donations of home baked desserts, snacks, fruit, and drinks — also financial support is always greatly appreciated.
