Sara Huff started taking piano lessons at the age of six. Her early teachers included Dr. Tinka Knopf at Peabody Institute in Baltimore, MD; Barbara Rowan at UNC Chapel Hill; and Rhea Sadowsky-Morton and Estelle Titiev in Ann Arbor, MI. She studied organ with Conrad Bernier in Washington, DC and later on with Rip Jackson when he was in Rutland, Vermont.

Sara completed her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Boston University, and the Master of Music Piano Performance and Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at The Catholic University of America. Her musical mentor for seventeen years was the late Hungarian pianist Bela Nagy, a student of Dohnanyi and Kodaly.

Her first position as Music Director was at a United Methodist church close to Washington, DC, when she was 24 years old. Since then, Sara has served in many denominations throughout her church musician career. Her experience playing in UU services includes Cedar Lane UU in Bethesda, MD, and the UU in Northfield (VT).
