Our Whole Lives

Honest, accurate information about sexuality changes lives. It dismantles stereotypes and assumptions, builds self-acceptance and self-esteem, fosters healthy relationships, and improves decision making. For these reasons and more, UCM is proud to once again offer Our Whole Lives (OWL), a comprehensive, lifespan sexuality education curricula. This fall trained OWL facilitator teams from our congregation will be leading OWL programs developmentally tailored for students in grades K-1st, 4th-5th, 7th-9th, 10th-12th.

The volunteer facilitators invest a significant amount of time to to this program.  They help engender trust and comfort within the group, as well lead the youth through a curriculum which is a thoughtful progression.  Each session builds on the one before it. For these reasons, participants must make a strong commitment in terms of attendance.  The vast majority find that the reward of new self-esteem, knowledge to help make healthy decisions, and friendships than can last a lifetime is well worth it.  OWL happens outside of the regular Sunday RE programming and parents must attend a parent orientation before enrolling their child.

Stay tuned for more information.
