Adult Spiritual Exploration News, Winter 2024

Dear UCM Members & Friends,

Three different types of Chalice Circles (small groups for deep listening and sharing) are ongoing: Small Group Ministry, Seasoned Souls, and Caregivers Support. Descriptions may be found on the ASE page on our website. Openings for the second half of the church year will be announced in January.

The Date with Death Club classes facilitated by Rev. Joan and Bronwyn Fryer (death doula) got off to a good start with a September session on “Getting Comfortable with Death,” and an October meeting devoted to “Death and Dying in Poetry and Music.” This course runs through May and will include topics such as grieving, preparing for your own death, Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD), and planning your own memorial service. It’s not too late to sign up!

Another “New UU” class will be offered in the spring, for new members and anyone else interested in UU history and the workings of UCM. The planned date for that class is Wednesday, March 5th, from 6:30-8:30 PM.

Watch the weekly e-news for opportunities to sign up for ongoing groups and other explorations related to our UU faith. Or check in at the Welcome Table during coffee hour. Contact Judith Hinds (jrhinds1185@yahoo.com) with questions.
