February 4, 2024 (Worship Service) The Heartbeat of Democracy

Former Justice of the Supreme Court, Thurgood Marshall, once said: “Democracy just cannot flourish amid fear. Liberty cannot bloom amid hate. Justice cannot take root amid rage. America must get to work.” What is our work to do for democracy, liberty, and justice at this moment?  Music will be provided by the UCM choir singing America the Dream by Rollo Dilworth, with poetry by Langston Hughes; and Eliza Thomas on piano and organ.
